Wild Berries!

Look what I scored today. Ye-Um!!!!!!!

menus

I am a BIG www.savingdinner.com fan. I have used her recipes for years now. I actually bought two of her new menus today-

The homemade Pizza ebook, which has a great recipe for glutten free pizza dough, and other pizza dough recipes.

I also bought the BreakFree Plan, an ebook too! This is where you eliminate certain foods for 28 days to see if you feel better and then add the foods you eliminated back into your diet slowly to see if you feel crappy again. If you feel bad, you cut it from your diet. Sounds like fun, lol. The way she has it set up I can still do this with a family of five AND I can keep my morning cup of coffee, just with coconut milk instead.

What I will make with my radishes today :)

Link to Radish Top Soup. on allrecipes.com. Fun Fun!!!!!

Update: The soup was very good. I scooped it into a bowl, added just a little salt, pepper, some sharp white cheddar cheese shredded, a little goat cheese and then topped it with the radish slices. Very good!

What I picked today, Monday 24 May

More radishes today. Small onions, pea pods and greens to saute for dinner tonight. Not sure what I'll do with the radishes, may have to pick some lettuce to make a salad. I also snacked on 4 strawberries. The only thing I will be picking over the next couple days will be strawberries, chives, parsley, maybe one more small salad for the family (of 5).

What I picked tonight, Sunday Night, 23 May 2010

I made a salad with different types of lettuce, couple radishes, one small bell pepper and pea pods. Sauted some greens (kale and collard) to go with the chicken I made tonight, and for dessert had sliced strawberries over ice cream. Was good :)

What I picked tonight

I made a nice salad tonight, the kids snacked on the strawberries, and I gave the birds some radish leaves to eat (our pet birds, Oliver and Bingo). This is the second bowl of strawberries I have picked. I should have another bowl full in about 5-6 days. The flowers-, purple flowers are from the chive plant. Yellow flowers are from one of the lettuce plants that grew out. I have been snacking on the peas, so only picked six tonight for the salad.

My Brother's chicken coop...cute!

My brother lives outside Vegas. He made this chicken coop, SO cute!!! This is his first year having chickens. They delivered them in April. 30 Chicks.

Martha Stewart's Garden

Great tips here. See the pumpkin/squash tip-with photo. Putting straw under each pumpkin to keep from rotting. good idea. Each picture has an idea.

I hit the Garage Sales today. Fun Fun!

I had fun this morning driving from Garage Sale to Garage Sale. I was looking for a couple large old pots for tomato plants I started from seed that I'd like to give to a couple neighbors. No luck finding pots today, but I did see two nice gardens. they said I could take pics :)

Below: A raised bed garden with yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes and beans, I think green beans? I didn't catch this gardeners name, but the ladies at the garage sale said she is a fantastic gardener and can grow anything. It was very nice to meet you ;) Thanks for letting me take pics of your garden.

Below: Here is Marie's Garden.

Garlic :) YUM! She planted these in the fall.

Below: She made the trellis' for her snap peas out of twigs and small branches. cute!

Below: This large structure is a giant trellis for tomatoes. Thanks Marie! Sending you an email now :)
